Echo of serenade [Ecou de serenadă] - George Bacovia
added by: Octavian

Velvet-like pansies, black like Hell
On the white marble wilted away
And secretly started to rot and decay
Spreading a sad and mournful smell.

I and my shadow have come again
Afflicted statues, you tumbled and fell, –
Velvet-like pansies, black like Hell
So many dreams were broken back then...

I am dressed in black, I’ve got the blues
I’m crying an ocean, I feel dismay,
’Cause my serenade has lost its way
In cursed and heavy sounding tunes...
